The Delegation of Macao Institute for Tourism Studies Visited Foshan University
On the morning of November 17, Zhao Weibing, vice president of the Tourism Management School of the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies, and his party visited the Xianxi campus of Foshan University (FOSU). Luo Shaoming, secretary of the party committee of FOSU, received the guests. Heads of functional departments such as the International Office, the Youth League Committee, the School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering and other functional departments and related secondary schools had a discussion.
At the meeting, Luo Shaoming welcomed the delegation of Macao Institute for Tourism Studies on behalf of FOSU. He introduced to the guests the series of achievements and major breakthroughs made by the university in discipline construction, personnel training, scientific research and local service since the construction of the high-level university of science and engineering. Luo Shaoming pointed out that as important node cities in the Greater Bay area, the two universities have natural advantages of cooperation in geo-culture, education with tourism characteristics, personnel training and discipline construction. It is hoped that the two sides will continue to cooperate in the construction of discipline platform, teacher exchange, joint training of graduate students and cooperation in running schools.
Zhao Weibing analyzed and judged the feasibility and necessity of cooperation with our university in the light of the school-running characteristics, postgraduate curriculum and global academic status of the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies, and believed that the two sides can give full play to their respective school-running experience, complement each other’s advantages, and work together to create a new pattern of cooperation.
During the visit, the guests visited the Xianxi campus. The Youth League Committee showed the guests the music video of our students singing the song “Sing the Praises of Motherland”. This is one of the achievements of the university’s participation in the Music Night of University Students in the Great Bay Area celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and the 22nd anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region. The event is organized by the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies.
Through this fruitful exchange, the two sides have reached a preliminary concept of cooperation, which will be used as a starting point, lay a good foundation for in-depth cooperation in the future, and jointly make due contributions to Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s economic development and personnel training.
